Silicone rubber (MVQ) industry has small dependence on petroleum, with the priceadvantage MVQ is developing rapidly and widely applied in recent years, so expand theapplication field of MVQ has a broad space for development. EPDM have excellentperformance in many fields, such as good processing properties, heat aging resistance, andhigh filling performance. MVQ/EPDM blend rubber, can reduce the cost and improve theprocessing performance, low temperature resistance, flexibility and heat resistanceperformance, also can provide the new base of raw materials for the special performancerequirements, so the research of MVQ/EPDM with important significance.In this paper, we have researched the effect of SP-1055resin on co-vulcanization ofEPDM/MVQ blends, which is different with using crosslinking agent as the common meansto improve the co-vulcanization of the blends. We also have studied the properties of theblends under the existing of two kinds of new compatib ilizer or anti-heat additives. Theresults show that the T90of MVQ is283s when1Phr SP-1055resin is added which hasincreased173s compared with the blank experiment. Mechanical properties can have a certainextent improvement by means of heating the blends of MVQ/SP-1055resin. In the blends ofEPDM/MVQ, a small amount of KH560can improve the compatibility of SP-1055and MVQwhich can raise the co-vulcanization of the two rubbers, which is good for the improvementof properties of the two. Dynamic mechanical analysis shows that there is a glass-transitiontemperature peak at-70.7℃indicated that the blends possessed well compatibility.Using different compatibilizer PTW and AX8900to improve compatibility of blendrubber, the results show that PTW has better compatibility than AX8900. SEM morphologyobservation found white carbon black has a better dispersion in the rubber with3PhrPTW.When used3Phr the crosslinking agent HVA-2and DA-MGIC, and the quality ratio is2:1, the blends have a comprehensive performance.Using Fe2O3as heat resistant additives, found Fe2O3have little impact on vulcanizationperformance and mechanical performance, but not good to the aging properties and heatresistant performance, when using more than3Phr Fe2O3, the samples before and after aging the proportion of strong stretching TE <36;When using sulfur and peroxide for vulcanizing,the mechanics performance, aging resistance and thermal degradation performance of theblends have improved significantly, When cooperated with0.2Phr sulfur, the rubber has thebest curing performance and mechanical properties, and the proportion of strong stretchingTE achieve70after ageing.
