Since Heeger et al found that polyacetylenes exhibited opto-electronic properties ofconductors and/or semiconductors in1977,Organic semiconductors has developed into a newepoch,eventually go into use in Organic Light-emitting Didoes, and/or a great potential insolar cells, field-effect transistors (OTFT), biosensors et al. New conjugated polymers havebeen always demanding from the early reported phenyl to biphenyl, to various fused-ringcontaining polymer emerging at present.First of all,we synthesized a novel fused ring polymer—polydiquinoxalinopyrene, withthe modified Suzuki polymerization. As a result we have changed the status that there wereonly small molecular derivatives. By studying the optical properties of the copolymer, we canget more performance of polydiquinoxalinopyrenepyrene as an n-type semiconductor inOTFT.Secondly, we synthesize a series of polythienophenanthrene with different carboxylicacid content. Polythienophenanthrene invented by our group is unique for its bearing of estergroups, my contribution is to conduct the copolymerization of thienophenanthrene bearingcarboxylic acid groups and ester side group with4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)benzothiadiazole)moieties, which concerning a Stille coupling under anhydrous conditions. The purpose ofdesigning is to improve compatibility of polymers with the inorganic nano-material,eventually put into the application of nanocomposite solar cells, which are still hot for theyhave both the advantages of a high carrier mobility rate and good chemical stability from theinorganic nanocrystals, but also the good flexibility and workability from the polyemrs.Preliminary results indicate that the band gap is closely to the full ester of poly thiophenephenanthrene. We will do further study of its photovoltaic performance.Finally, we try to reveal the mechanism of the high performance blue light-emittingpolymers. There are some blue light-emitting materials with good stability and high quantumefficiency reported, however, we cannot repeat their results. We designed and synthesized anew structure,and optionally adding a third monomer in this study. The results showed higherluminous efficiency higher than the binary alternating copolymers we synthesized before.
