In order to reduce coal dust concentration of the longwall face,reduce the harm toworkers’ health caused by coal dust. On the basis of dust production characteristics ofshearer and the basic theory of water spray dedusting. Shearer dust removaltechnology was put forward. Through using FLUENT numerical simulation,Westudied the effect of spray nozzle exit speed and the pipe inner diameter on thevelocity and pressure of the pipe spraying.We studied the shape characteristics of pipespraying by experiment.We designed the dust removal system of MG200/500-WDshearer in3207fully mechanized top-coal caving working face in Bofang mine,purchasing the high-pressure pump, water-supply tank and high-pressure rubber hose.We studied the design method of the dust remover and fixing equipment. Strengthcheck of shearer dust remover equipment was finished by using ANSYS software.Wecalculated the pressure loss and flow of water supply pipe. After the dust removalsystem was installed. The dust measurement industrial test was taken in3207fullymechanized top-coal caving working face. The results showed that shearer dustremover had a good dust removal effect. The cone-shaped water spray can form adust-isolation spraying shield which surrounded the dust production zone of shearer.The total dust and respirable dust concentration of the working face was decreased bymore than80%. Which reduced coal dust concentration of the working face and theharm to workers’ health caused by coal dust.
