The security condition of wire ropes plays a vital role in the coal mineproduction safety, which is also widely used in various fields, including mineralproduction, metallurgy, architecture, tourism, transportation, construction of ports anddocks, oil drilling, military industry and so on. Whereas, as an engineering componentwith loads, wire ropes are inevitably to undergo fatigue, fracture, corrosion, abrasion, and even sudden break during its using process. Both the damage condition andloading capability of wire ropes always affect the equipment and personal safety. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to research on the safety test of wireropes. The present thesis mainly focuses on the fracture damage of wire ropes.Specifically, based on previous research findings of experts at home and abroad onfracture test of wire ropes, this thesis is to analyze the fracture form of wire ropes anddesign the excitation equipment and detecting devices of wire ropes in accordancewith electromagnetic testing theory and the strong permeability possessed by wireropes themselves.Furthermore, this thesis also carried out a comparison experiment, aiming at twodifferent test methods (coil and Hall element), and determined to test Hall elementaccording to the experiment effect. This thesis is also to analyze the influences ofliftoff, the arrangement method of Hall elements on the test effect, in order to analyzeand design the signal preprocessing system. Moreover, this thesis is to design a signal collection system for wire rope fracturedamage at the core of PCI2006capture card with the help of LabVIEW developed byNI Corporation, which is to provide a favorable human-machine interface forcustomers. This thesis is also to analyze wavelet denoising theory and write a programwith the help of Matlab, so as to achieve the wavelet denoising of fracture signals. After that, the present thesis is to extract the features of those useful signals afterdenoising and analyze their features in consideration of the reliability of eigenvalue, specify the peak value and wave area, so as to provide eigenvalue for the quantitativerecognition of wire ropes. In the end, this thesis is to design a RBF network model used for the quantitativerecognition of wire ropes’ fracture damage with the help of MATLAB Toolbox andvalidate the reliability and practicability of the net work through simulation andpractical test.
