Special-shaped reinforced concrete pipe skeleton frame roll welder is one of the mainbuilding materials equipments used to achieve standardization,automation and large-scaleproduction of special-shaped reinforced concrete pipe skeleton frame.Special-shapedreinforced concrete culvert pipe has many advantages but is not widely used due to thelack of research on special-shaped reinforced concrete pipe skeleton frame roll welder inour country. Special-shaped reinforced concrete pipe skeleton frame is very different fromround reinforced concrete pipe skeleton frame on production principle and method,so wecan not copy the structure of round reinforced concrete pipe skeleton frame rollwelder.Research on roll welder welding process is also rare. Be aimed at above problem,the article develop a special-shaped reinforced concrete pipe skeleton frame roll welderbased on research and analysis of the characteristics and difficulties while producingspecial-shaped reinforced concrete pipe skeleton frame,then mainly complete the design ofworking principle and structure,and analyze the welding process.Further more,the weldingcharacteristics are analyzed by numerical simulation of welding coupled field based on theestablished welding finite element model, and this can provide a basis when selectingwelding parameters.Main researches are as follow:(1) According to the characteristics of producing special-shaped reinforced concretepipe skeleton frame,we introduce design parameters of the roll welder. On the basis ofanalysis the whole project, we choose the best diameter control mechanism and feedingmechanism, which make the machine easily controlled and reasonable. Criticalcomponents are designed reasonably.Diameter controlling mechanism,draggingmechanism,welding feeding mechanism and driving mechanism are designed in detail,thewhole structure are finally determined.(2) Based on analysis of resistance welding process on roll welder, we point out thatit is a special kind of resistance welding, then make a series of simplifications andassumptions to establish thermal,electrical and mechanical coupled finite element modelon the finite element software ANSYS,considering the effect of temperature on thematerial properties,phase change latent heat and contact resistance.(3)According to the coupled field analysis steps and finite element model,we analysis the welding process and the variation rules of temperature fields,dynamic resistance andnugget growth are discovered quantificationally. A welding experiment using the samewelding parameters as numerical simulation is proceeded to verify the accuracy of thesimulation results.By changing the parameters of the finite element model to analyze theeffects of different welding parameters on the welding process.
