With the mechanism of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS),using avacuum evaporative pattern casting infiltration (V-EPC) method of preparation ofTiC-TiB2particle reinforced the steel substrate composite materials。First of all, the alloypowder mixed with a certain amount of binder and paint solvents。 With the advancepreparation good EPS shape bonding together, hang on EPS shape again3-4mm thick withthe function of the adhering sand mold special coatings, and in less than50℃temperaturedrying. Secondly, the drying good EPS shape into sand box.After loading good liquid steel,high manganese steel casting smelting the alloy coating material in poured into the moltensteel of the high manganese steel under the action of the reaction, generate the reactionproduct of TiC and TiB2particle reinforced high manganese steel matrix surfacecomposites, in the SHS reaction, enhancement of the particles in the coating is in situgenerated on EPS shape, reinforcing particles and liquid steel will get better wettability, getthe composite particle interface is clean, has a perfect organization, organization ofreinforcing particles are evenly distributed. in ordinary metal material surface to optimizethe design prepared coating, not only can significantly improve the reliability and servicelife, reduce maintenance and replacement times, and can save materials and energy.This paper presents two reaction system:(1) Ti-C-B2O3system. The preform in thissystem is consisted of boron oxide, titanium,graphite powders.(2) Ti-C-B-Fe system. Thepreform in this system is consisted of boron iron powder, titanium,graphitepowdersStudying the amount of B2O3,B-Fe powder, coating thickness have effect on TiCand TiB2coating microstructure organization, the coating and the substrate bindingcondition, hardness and wear resistance; make use of the means of SEM, EDS, XRDanalysis of the chemical composition and the microstructure of the coating structure,testing the HRC hardness of the coating, and do wear testing.Coating hardness and weightloss explain the variation of the microstructure of the coating.The results show that:(1) In the Ti-C-B2O3system, the distribution of the TiC and TiB2particles as the B2O3content increases gradually uniform and size gradually becomessmaller, when the B2O3content is15%,the hardness reaches maximum and abrasionresistance is best; thickness in terms of the production of the coating, After coatingthickness increase,hardnessis best;(2) In the TiC-C-B-Fe system, with B-Fe contentincrease the TiC and TiB2particle size gradually decreases, and dispersed more and moreuniform. When B-Fe content is15%, hardness reaches the highnest; The coating has theabrasion resistance when the B-Fe content is20%.
