The research and use of magnesium and magnesium alloys as biodegradable implantmaterials is minimal in our country. Porous oxide film generated by the magnesium andmagnesium alloy, magnesium alloy itself without too much protection, the environmentalmedium containing chlorine ion corrosion resistance of magnesium and magnesium alloy ispoorer, therefore, the magnesium and magnesium alloys as a human bone repair embeddedmaterial also has the very big difference. Mn as alloying elements in Mg can significantlyimprove the corrosion resistance of Mg. In this study, Mg as matrix, Mn and Ca for alloyelements, the corrosion behavior of Mg-Mn-Ca alloy was studied in simulated body fluid. This experiment adopts the purity of more than99.95%of Mg, Mn and Ca, in thelaboratory using the covering flux method, crucible resistance furnace smelting Mg-Mn-Caalloy. Selection Mg-Mn-Ca alloy as the research object, to Hank ’s human body simulationsolution for the corrosive medium, under the condition of constant temperature (37℃)soaking corrosion experiments. Equipment is analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(sem), eds Mg-Mn-Ca alloy surface corrosion conditions; The magnesium alloy in simulatedbody fluid was tested by electrochemical workstation in polarization curve andelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy; Analyzed the Mn content is different Mg-Mn-Caalloy in Hank ’s law of corrosion in simulated body fluids, and further study the effect of heattreatment on the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys. The experimental results show that: first, add a little amount of manganese in themagnesium alloy, can effectively improve the corrosion performance of magnesium alloy;Three different manganese content of Mg-xMn-0.5Ca (x=0.5;1.0;2.0) in the alloy with1%manganese content of magnesium alloy has the highest since the corrosion potential, capacitive reactance arc radius of maximum, minimum, corrosion current density shows thatthe manganese content of1%magnesium alloys showed good corrosion resistance, smallamounts of manganese join enough to effectively improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys, the addition of excessive manganese will weaken the corrosion resistanceof magnesium alloys. Second, Mg-xMn-0.5Ca (x=0.5;1.0;2.0) alloy is mainly in theform of the second phase of the Mn elements distributed in intracrystalline and grain boundary, only a small amount is dissolved in the Mg substrate; Heat treatment can make the secondphase precipitates dissolved, effectively improve.
