Silicate Bacteria can dissolve bauxite silicon, iron and other impurities to reduce silicon and impurity. It can not only improve the quality of low-grade bauxite as appropriate for the Bayer process, but also make some low-quality bauxite and aluminum silicate-minerals become mineral resources. Yunnan Province is the one of the largest producer of aluminum in China. With the depletion of high-grade mineral resources, it is very urgent that how to use low-grade bauxite resources.So it is of grate significance to develop bauxite microbial leaching technology bacteria.Mud samples were sampled from Yanshan Red Scheck mine (latitude23.70209°, longitude104.30867°).Seven silicate bacteria were isolated with selective medium and they were identified as Paenibacillus sp. and Rhizobium sp.Desilication ability of seven silicate bacteria were detected by atomic absorption spectrometry and inductive coupled plasma emission spectrometer. It showed that all of the desilication silicate had the ability to desilicate, the bauxite aluminum-silicon ratio can also be improved, the best strain can increaast the aluminum-silicon ratio from1.4to2.1.Subsequent leaching conditions were optimized HSK4strains with different concentrations of glucose as carbon source leaching experiments, cultured for14days, was found in the glucose concentration of0.5%, the effect of silicate bacteria desilication best of12.72mg/L, more than the standard strains of3.79mg/L. Also studied the effects of different temperatures on bioleaching, were set up at two temperatures,20℃and28℃, the results showed that,28℃, the silicate bacteria desilication better.Seven silicate bacteria were isolated, and the desilication efficiency was studied, while the leaching conditions of HSK4strain were optimized.
