Automobile productions and possessions are rapidly increasing along with thedevelopment of economy while the problems of energy and environment of automobileindustry are becoming increasingly prominent which has aroused great concern widespread.Green manufacturing is a key way to control the source of environmental pollution ofmanufacturing industry, and is the only way to achieve sustainable development in themanufacturing sector. In order to achieve energy-saving emission reduction targets,automobile industry must carry out green manufacturing. Life cycle assessment(LCA) ofauto parts for green manufacturing can quantitatively reveal the potential problems ofenergy and environment of auto parts, provide a reference for changing product design andimproving processes, and be conducive to energy-saving emission reduction of auto parts.First of all, this thesis described the significance of green manufacturing, andanalyzed the latest research status at home and abroad of LCA in automobile industry.Furthermore, the thesis expounded the concept in detail, technical framework, steps andmain application areas of LCA. What’s more, based on the theory and methods of LCA,combined with the characteristics of auto parts product, determined the research purpose,range and assumptions, collected and analyzed the inventory data, and used GaBi software,CML2001and AHP, we established the comprehensive evaluation model of energy-savingemission reduction in the whole life cycle of automobile components product. In the end,from the process improvement and design changes and decisions, the article conducted twoempirical studies on auto parts. For one thing, under the assumptions of the border, thepaper carried out the LCA of the engine cylinder block and presented process improvementsuggestions. For another thing, this study carried out the LCA of two different materialssteering gear dust covers. The results show that the plastic dust cover is much better thanthe rubber dust cover in terms of energy consumption and environmental pollution.In the thesis, research methods and conclusions are all-important significance in boththeory and practice for carrying out the evaluation on energy consumption andenvironmental pollution in all life cycle phases of auto parts, and provide bases to theoverall evaluation of the energy-saving emission reduction of process improvement anddesign changes for green manufacturing.
