Highway is the infrastructure of the economic and social development.In recentyears,low carbon road has been concerned many places with an increasing number oftraffic mileage.But how to build a low carbon road and evaluate low carbon road inwhole life cycle and how to select the main impact indicators and evaluation methods,there are a lot of problems to be solved.In the paper, through the analysis of current research and the consult massiveliterature material,the evaluation index system of highway in whole life cycle ofcarbon was established. Carbon measurement model of highway was established forquantitative indicators by analyzing the various stages of the life-cycle highway,thatis planning and designing period, construction period, operation period, protectionperiod. The model is used for quantitative calculation carbon emissions of thelife-cycle highway. Qualitative indicators was quantified by expert evaluation. theindex weight of the life-cycle highway carbon assessment system determined basedon principle that " the function is driven " to compose right law and based on principlethat "the difference is driven " entropy value compose " addition " to give right of law.The method reflects objective data and subjective information which is morereasonable. Because the project of the life-cycle highway construction includes manyincompatible problems,and the quantity of the index is relatively small, a graymatter-element of information model is established, combined with informationtheory with gray matter-element theory. The carbon evaluation model of the life-cyclehighway is established combined with information theory with gray matter-elementtheory.Because the assessment model of the life-cycle highway is more complex, thecarbon evaluation system of the life-cycle highway is developed using object-orientedvisual programming language Visual Basic.Net. The evaluation system of carbon isapplied to G307The Bohai Xingqu Huang Hua around the city project. Case study ofthe evaluation system of carbon by comparing different asphalt concrete pavementand concrete pavement. The application of the system has fully reflected theevaluation model and evaluation system have greater practical value.
