The Three Gorges Project is the water conservancy engineering which is becomingthe focus of the world. When the engineering finished, the Three Gorges Reservoir willbe more than600kilometers in length,1084square kilometers in area, and will be ableto hold about44.57billion cubic meters of water. The project will be the foremost tacticwater resource in China. In October,2010, the Three Gorges project reached the highestwater level175meters for the first time. As the water level elevated, velocity sloweddown, the environment of water body in the Reservoir tail and the sand in the waterwould change in Three Gorges Reservoir. Especially, eutrophication is being in parts ofbranches because of low velocity of flow and the main reason why eutropoicationhappen is the nitrogen and phosphorus pollution. And as the running away of the soil, sandiness rate is high. All of these problems make the situation more complex. With thechange in hydrological conditions since the impoundment of Three Gorges reservoir, potential issue of eutrophication becomes an important problem to solve. So,in order toprotect water environment and improve water quality in the area, researches on TN andTP pollution are of important theoretical significance and practical value.Because of the content of sand in Three Gorges Reservoir is high and the sedimenthas great impact on TP and TN pollution, we cannot ignore the effect of sand to theenvironment of water body in Three Gorges Reservoir. Chongqing urban section of theYangtze River lies on the upper river in the fluctuating backwater region of ThreeGorges Reservoir. Take the sand as the object of our study, experimental determinationof the content of contaminants and discuss the change rule between pollutant and sandwithin different relevant factor can provide a scientific basis for the regional waterenvironment change and its countermeasures, especially, we take the sand in bends ofriver, it is better to the experiment. In this study, the characteristic of suspend sand and sediment are considered todiscuss the regular pattern of influence which sediment have on the contaminants. Thisarticle will points out that the influence which sediment have on the Nitrogen andPhosphorus pollutants. There are several important aspects in the main study outcome:Firstly, the article summarizes the interrelationship between sediment concentration andNitrogen and phosphorus pollutants. The water quality has been simply evaluated basedon monitoring data of main sections in Chongqing region of Three Gorges Reservoir, and analyze the consequences of the pollution to a certain extent and we also do the jobaccording to the experiment.Secondly, analysis and summary the influence factors of absorption-desorptionbased on the experiment, including the concentration of the sand and pollutant, diameterof sand, pH, operating temperature, water velocity and so on.
