The roadway under1282(3) face had been damaged seriously and repaired several times since it dug. The1282(3) face is located in Dingji coal mine of Huainan coalfield. The height of its floor is-790m to-825m.The average thickness of coal is4.1m.The1412(1) face and1422(1) face under the1282(3) face have been mined. It is the typical deep thick coal mining on mined-out area. In this paper, the distribution laws of abutment pressure and the damage characteristics of roadway have been studied. I analysis the reasonable stop location of coal mining and the surrounding rock control technology of roadway to provide the reference of coal mining on similar conditions. On the basic of mining geological conditions, a lot of measurement and observation work have been done. The distribution laws of abutment pressure and the damage characteristics of roadway have been studied through theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and field measurement. The results show that the scope of abutment pressure gradually increase with the increase of mining depth and mining height. The scope of abutment pressure increase with mining on the mine-out area. Field measurement showed that the roadway was impacted by mining when the length between the roadway and the1282(3) face was less than180m. The improved supporting method and reasonable size of coal pillar were put forward to guiding the mining on similar condition.
