The development of the society must be based on resources and energy as a powerful driving force, however, since the industrial revolution, non-renewable resources-fossil resources as the driving force are reduced at an alarming rate, and with the use of fossil resources, problems of energy crisis and environmental pollution and so on follow, so the use of biomass energy as the world’s fourth largest energy is more and more attention by people. Biomass not only can be used as an energy source, but also very excellent chemical resources, levulinic acid just is one of its application direction. Levulinic acid has very good physical and chemical properties, its preparation and extraction technology is gradually perfect, it is also worldwide attention, as a platform for new chemical compoundsPreplan experimental solution is heated by catalytic hydrolysis method as experimental material from galactose and glucose of Biomass derived monosaccharides under atmospheric pressure in this paper, and sample is detected and analyzed by GCMS. Through the analysis of single factor experiment, the impact trend of LA productive rate is researched in the experiment for raw material concentration, catalyst concentration, the type of catalyst, reaction temperature and reaction time, and through the analysis of the response surface experiment, the incidence is studied for factors such as concentration of raw materials, catalyst concentration, reaction time and reaction temperature in the experimentSingle factor experiment results show that the experimental results are quite obvious from raw material, the type of catalyst, catalyst concentration, reaction time and reaction temperature, under the condition of0.4mol/L of galactose concentration,90min of reaction time,170℃of reaction temperature, and0.2mol/L of chromium trichloride (3.5mol/L of sulphuric acid), The better production rate of LA is68.31%from galactose and64.14%from glucose. And the response surface experiment results show that incidence is different to every effect factor in the experiment, in the case of galactose, impact degree of LA productive rate is successively catalyst concentration, galactose concentration, reaction temperature and reaction time in proper sequence. Optimized by response surface method, in a suitable experimental conditions, the optimal condition is0.41mol/L of galactose concentration,88.94min of reaction time, 149.12℃of reaction temperature, and0.27mol/L of chromium trichloride (3.5mol/L of sulphuric acid). Levulinic acid production rate can reach71.69%at this point.
