Xinji coal mine located in Huainan synclinorium in Xieqiao syncline South, in the middle of Yingfeng and Fufeng nappe structure. With pretty complicated geological structure, coal seam was disturbed by geological structure. Tectonic coal was widespread.The development of tectonic coal not only easily leaded to coal and gas outburst,but also brought adverse effect to mining and coal seam gas exploitation.So, the study of tectonic coal development degree and distribution is a very important guiding significance for predicting coal and gas outburst and improving production efficiency of coalbed gas.Without strict quantitative markers, the identification markers of structural coal or coal failure types was qualitative description,and can be used in coal mine roadway observation wall only. For the new districts and new horizontal which were not revealed by roadway, the coal body structure can not be observed directly in the coal wall underground.The coal body structure of core drilling can not be observed directly because of low core rate or simple core description. So the only feasible method of knowledge judgment of tectonic coal is using features displayed by well logging curve.This paper used the reflection of the physical difference of tectonic coal and normal structured coal in the logging curve to discrime tectonic coal and discussed the principle and method of general judgment of tectonic coal using logging curve. With this means, coal body structure of Xinji coal mine13-1、8、1coal seam drilling was identificted, the distribution of tectonic coal development characteristics of13-1、8、1coal seam is summaried, and Xinji coal mine13-1、8、1coal seam is divided into tectonic coal developed areas and less developed area respectively.This paper studied the differences in physical characteristics of tectonic coal and normal structured coal from four points of view. They were macroscopic and microscopic features、initial speed of methane diffusion(Δp)and protodyakonov coefficient permeability and industrial classification index. The failure types of coal、 initial speed of methane diffusion(Δp)、protodyakonov coefficient of tectonic coal achieved the index of forecasting the coal seam outburst danger. Tectonic coal reduced the permeability of coal seam and produced a large number of buggy, having negative effects on exploitation and emission of coal seam gas.Therefore exploitation and emission of coal seam gas should be avoided as far as possible in tectonic coal development area. Tectonic coal development did not change the industrial classification of coal.
