| With the vigorous exploration and development of oil and gas resources, the complexityand depth of the oil and gas drilling increase constantly, so an advanced well controltechnology is required, and early kick detection as the key to well control is very important.Having detected kick timely and accurately, it can save valuable time for eliminating kick andreconstructing pressure balance in the drilling process. So the difficulty of secondary wellcontrol can be reduced greatly and the safety of drilling operation can be guaranteedeffectively. In recent years, the kick detection technology has made great progress. Nowadays,the existing kick detection technologies at home and abroad include: drilling fluid pit surfacedetection, delta flow method, liquid level monitoring in the wellbore detection, gas invasiondetection, kick detection while drilling, multi-parameter comprehensive detection system andcomprehensive logging detection and analysis technology, and so on.This paper detailedly analyzes the applicable conditions, advantages and shortcomings,and field applications of the above methods, aiming at solving the problems of detectinginaccurately and not timely, that drilling fluid pit surface detection which is the most widelyused in during field has, and the limitations of return flow measurement, so it has proposedthe early kick detection system based on parshall flume and delta flow method. Nowadays,parshall flume is widely used to measure agricultural and industrial water and plumbing. Thispaper has firstly proposed the measurement for return drilling open channel fluid based onparshall flume. The reliability of the system is greatly improved, and compared with drillingfluid pit surface detection, owing to its device placed in front of the ground return line, thereal-time performance of detection is also improved. At the same time, the system can alsosolve the limitation that traditional delta flow method needs to measure under the condition offull package.The main contents and outcomes are as following:1. After detailedly investigating the subject, it has put forward the design scheme of theearly kick detection system based on parshall flume. The design is based on delta flow, whichusing open channel flow meter to measure return drilling open channel flow.2. It explains the reason of choosing parshall flume. By laboratorial experiments andnumerical experiments via the finite element analysis software ANSYS simulation, combinedwith the actual situation of drilling site, it optimizes the model of parshall flume.3. Under the premise of fully considering the influence factors of kick detection, and reforming laboratorial simulation drilling circulation device, finally it has built the system.The system firstly uses ultrasonic flow meter to measure parshall flume flow, then samplingsthe detection data in real-time, finally with the aid of VB and C#to program the software. Theearly kick detection system has the functions of kick detection and reliable alarm.Be tested by the laboratorial simulation device, the system we have designed can getbetter results, and it can not only achieve expected design purpose, but also have laidfoundations for further field application. |
