Isobutyraldehyde is an important chemical raw materials,it can be derived frommany high value-added chemical products, including neopentyl glycol andisobutanol. when lower alcohols including methanol and ethanol was used as rawmaterial of isobutyraldehyde, preparation of isobutyraldehyde had broad prospects. Atpresent, there existed a lot research,which mainly focused on both vanadium-basedcatalyst and copper-based catalyst. However, the investigation concentrated in thepreparation process. Conditions for catalyst research were still relatively little.In this paper, CuO-ZnO-Al2O3catalyst C-1were prepared by Coprecipit-ation,CuO-ZnO-SiO2catalyst C-2were prepared by sol-gel method, V2O5-TiO2catalystC-3were prepared by impregnation method.They are used for one-step synthesisreaction of isobutyraldehyde.copper-based catalysts were used for the investigationfor the reducing atmosphere, reduction temperature, reduction time, reactiontemperature, space velocity and feed mole ratio. vanadium catalysts were used for theinvestigation for the reaction temperature, space velocity and feed molar ratio.Catalyst C-1were prepared by Coprecipitation,for the suitable reductionreconditions of Catalyst C-1,the hydrogen content was5%-10%,the reductiontemperature was300℃;the reduction time was4h.for the suitable reactionreconditions of Catalyst C-1,reaction temperature is325℃,the space velocity is20h-1,the molar ratio is2.5:1.Under these reaction conditions,the ethanol conversionis95.1%, then the isobutyraldehyde selectivity is30.2%.Catalyst C-2were prepared by sol-gel method,for the suitable reductionreconditions of Catalyst C-2,the hydrogen content was5%-10%,the reductiontemperature was300℃;the reduction time was4h.for the suitable reactionreconditions of Catalyst C-1,reaction temperature is325℃,the space velocity is30h-1,the molar ratio is2.5:1.Under these reaction conditions,the ethanol conversionis96.2%, then the isobutyraldehyde selectivity is33.1%.Catalyst C-3were prepared by impregnation method,At a temperature of375℃, space velocity of30h-1, the molar ratio of methanol to ethanol of3:1,the catalyst activity is the best. at this point,the ethanol conversion is96.1%, theisobutyraldehyde selectivity is47.6%.
