Isobornyl acylate (IBOA) is a kind of very good reactive monomer. In recent years, it is w-idely used in all kind of high quality acrylic resin and poly acrylic resin, and we can see the fi-gures in many manufacturing industries such as paint, ink, plastic, and adhesive. These produ-cts tend to have high hardness, high elasticity, friction resistance, ageing resistance, corrosion resistance, polymer luster, and good adhesion. The synthesis of IBOA on transesterification h-as changed the defect of traditional esterification, which the reaction condition has great influ-ence on the product, not easy to control and the low yield and selectivity. It is a kind of mild、 green synthesis route.This thesis is about the synthesis of IBOA through a two-step transesterification, which us-e isobornyl acetate and methanol as raw material and solid base and base ionic liquids as cata-lysts respectively.The optimum process conditions of synthesis route of IBOA through two-step transesterifi-cation under microwave irradiation with base ionic liquid [TMG][Lac] as catalyst was found as follow:the first step, the molar rate of methanol and isobornyl acetate,4:l, reaction tempera-ture,60℃, reaction time,40min, in presence of70%(w) ionic liquid [TMG][Lac]. The secon-d step:the molar rate of methyl acrylate and isobomeol,3:1, reaction temperature,70℃, react-ion time,40min, in presence of50%(w) ionic liquid [TMG][Lac]. In the two steps, yield of Is-oborneol and IBOA were80.10%and86.21%, and their average selectivity was99.9%. The yield and selectivity of IBOA were the same1.18~1.83and1.27~1.86times as that of tradit-ional heating, respectively.KOH/Al2O3had the best catalytic effect among base solid supported catalysts. The optimu-m process conditions of synthesis route of IBOA through two-step transesterification with K-OH/Al2O3as catalyst was found as follow:the first step, the molar rate of methanol and isob-ornyl acetate3:1, reaction temperature60℃, reaction time10h, in presence of7%(w) KOH/Al2O3catalyst. The second step:reaction temperature,70℃, reaction time,8h.The yield of Is-oborneol and IBOA were70.43%and62.20%, and their selectivity was90.21%and80.31. T-he disadvantages of yield and selectivity in supported catalyst remains to have a further devel-opment.
