Solvent extraction which is also known as liquid-liquid extraction is a process of metal ions extracted from water phase to organic phase in Hydrometallurgy and the extractant solubility in the aqueous phase is very low or insoluble. Solvent extraction technology is very useful for separation of rare earth elements, in the past decades analytical chemists have used solvent extraction method to almost separate all metal ions, and many analysis steps can be used for commercial hydrometallurgy process. Solvent extraction is widely considered the most appropriate method to the separation of rare earth elements, it is more effective and has a shorter operating time than other separation methods. The process of heavy metal ions in waste is increasingly becoming the object of attention, more people have great interest in the research of iron extraction and the research has been paid little attention. Due to amides extractants have properties of easy made, small pollution, good stability and good extraction behavior, they have attracted much attention. So in the paper three differe kinds of amide extractants were mainly synthesized2,3a,5-Trioctyl-hexahydro-pyrrolo [3,4-c]pyridine-3,4-dione,N,N,N’,N’-tetraoctyl-3-oxa-diglyc olamide,2-(bis-dibutylcarbamoylmethylamino)-N,N-dibutyl-acetamide. We also studied the extraction behavior of bicyclic amide on rare earth ions, as well as other two extractants were studied on Fe (Ⅲ) extraction and the extraction mechanism. The main contents are as follows:(1)2,3a,5-Trioctyl-hexahydro-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-3,4-dione,N,N,N’,N’-tetraoctyl-3-ox a-diglycolamide and2-(bis-dibutylcarbamoylmethylamino)-N,N-dibutyl-acetamide were synthesized and characterized by IR、1H NMR、13C NMR、Mass spectrum、single crystal diffraction.(2) The extraction performance of Gd3+, Eu3+with bicycle amide2,3a,5-Trioctyl-hexahydro-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine-3,4-dione in the nitric acid system was investigated. Probably due to the steric hindrance of alkyl group, the extraction effect is not good, so further researches are needed to explored.(3) The effect of hydrochloric acid concentration, extractant concentration and temperature on the extraction distribution ratio were studied. For the extraction of irons using2-(bis-dibutylcarbamoylmemyIamino)-N,N-dibutyl-acetamide, the extraction distribution ratio increased with the increasing in hydrochloric acid concentration and extractant concentration, respectively. The extraction reaction is exothermic and it was favor to the extraction at low temperature. And as for TODGA, the extraction distribution ratio increased with the increasing in hydrochloric acid concentration and extractant concentration, respectively. The extraction reaction is endothermic and it was favor to the extraction at high temperature.
