Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS) is to achieve a uniform product standard in the design, manufacture and testing of the entire processes. The integration of feature, specification, processing and certification can provide a new engineering tool for product innovation to meet current business development and market competition needs. Geometrical Product Specifications uses uncertainty as leverage to adjust the finished products throughout the production cycle to minimize costs and optimize the allocation of resources. However, because of the assessment of uncertainty is related to the product’s entire life cycle, involving a number of different stages of the assessment process, assessment of uncertainty thus has become the biggest challenge in practical application. This paper mainly studies the new generation uncertainty in several aspects:(1)First, the basic theory of the new generation of GPS is studied, including its key technology analysis and the uncertainly application in modern industry. The study focused on the theoretical determination principle of the new generation of GPS products during the inspection of various uncertainties and assessment or management of a new generation of GPS uncertainty.(2) Then the uncertainty of determining the application of the principles were studied. Use focus on the basic principle of the least squares fitting and the derivation calculations of uncertainty calculation theory of the flatness of the least squares fitting. The ISO14253-2proofs this method of uncertainty determination criteria is more reasonable than the traditional uncertainty measurement criteria. Here also analyzes the contribution of measurement definition, instrument accuracy, sampling and assessment algorithm toward the uncertainty. The passing pattern and the uncertainty contribution are analyzed as well.(3) Finally, uncertainty management and the application of evaluation studies,Use the Monte Carlo algorithm and its application in the uncertainty theory are studied through the example of external turning tool tip angle conducted a reasoning solving process. Through PUMA management procedure is a particular application process. Using Matlab software uncertainty evaluation techniques designed interface, by establishing a measurement platform interface instance to assess the application of the process were introduced.This paper studies the uncertainty assessment methods and the solving process of uncertainty of simple piece to study the application of the new generation of GPS uncertainty theory. Hope to provide a reference for future research and industrial research in the practical application of the new generation of GPS theory.
