In this paper, several environmental mineral materials have been studied about their quality control of aquaculture water. Firstly, adsorption of phosphorus was investigated by using industry expanded vermiculite collected in Henan Province. Results show that significant influence of pH on phosphorus sorption is observed within the pH range of3-9in the tested sample system. With correlation coefficient of0.9851and saturation adsorption capacity of2.76mg/g, Langmuir isotherm is figured to fit the data of phosphorus adsorption onto vermiculite very well. Moreover, precipitation reaction and ion exchange with iron and aluminum elements in vermiculite are the dominating mechanisms of phosphorus removal. The results of the captive test of the ammonia-nitrogen removing by vermiculite as follows:High removal rate was reached within the pH range of6.0-8.0.The removal rate of ammonia nitrogen by vermiculite declined slowly when the initial concentration of nitrogen was at1mg/L-10mg/L, and salinity influences removal rate as well. The algae cultivation experiments have been conducted to examine the effects of vermiculite. The experimental results showed that vermiculite leach liquor will promote the growth of C. vulgaris and also inhibit the growth of P. donghaiense, otherwise, the growth of N. dalian depends greatly on the leaching Si content. The filter bed was applied to the culturing course, and Litopenaeus vannamei was taken as a feeding model. The NH4+、NO3-、NO2-、DO、COD and pH arrived at aquaculture standard range.
