With the growth of population and development of industry,the demand forenergy increase gradually.The situation of not well-distributed water resource in ourcountry and deteriorated water quality aggravate deletion of water resource.Under thebackground,exploring environmentally friendly.The technology of microbial fuel cellis device which can convert chemical energy to electricity and provide high-efficient,energy.It can solve energy crisis and shortage of water clean, reliable resource.However, low start-up speed, low electricity production effciency, microbialstructure of electricigens exsit in the study of MFC.The settlement of these problemswill improve the cognition and application for MFC.Therefore,air-cathode single MFC is constructed and started-up with aerobicsludge,anaerobic sludge and mixed sludge of aerobic sludge and anaerobic sludge.Theaim of study is to explore fast start-up condition and high-efficiently runned conditionand reveal dynamics characteristics of microbial structure.The study shows that MFC started-up with mixed sludge complets start-upprocess in the shortest time with200h.Meanwhile, the power density of MFC is thehighest with11.15W/m3.MFC started-up with aerobic sludge completed the processwith300h,while the time of MFC started-up with anaerobic sludge is850h.The powerdensity of MFC started-up with aerobic sludge is8.04W/m3,while the one of MFCstarted-up with anaerobic sludge is0.32W/m3.In terms of voltage,MFC started-upwith aerobic sludge reached the highest value with0.28V and voltage of MFCstarted-up with anaerobic sludge and mixed sludge reaches the same level with0.24V.Judging from capacity of MFC,MFC started-up with aerobic sludge has thelargest capacity.SEM shows that the microbial morphology of MFC started-up with aerobic sludge,anaerobic sludge and mixed sludge is rod-shape.DGGE and HTS shows thatmicrobial structure and composition of MFC is conveging with the start-upprocess.Besides,microbial structure and composition of MFC keep a steady conditionafter start-up.The predominant bacteria of MFC started-up aerobic sludge isAcidithiobacillus ferrooxidans and Deinococcus proteolyticus,while the predominantbacteria of MFC started-up anaerobic sludge is Quatrionicoccus australiensis andPseudomonas plecoglossicida.In the terms of MFC started-up with mixed sludgewhich has the highest electricity production performance,the sequence abundance ofZoogloea and Acinetobacter which contribute to the formation of biofilm ofmicrobes is5.00%and3.90%.The abundance of Geobacter related toelectricityproduction of MFC is0.60%and up to2.60%in biofilm of anode.The study indicates that mixed sludge of aerobic sludge and anaerobic sludge canstart up MFC quickly and obtain the highest power density.The bioflim of anode caneliminate and select microbes in the acclimatization process and formed flora whichcontribute to the formation and stability of biofilm and anaerobic fermentation oforgnics and electricity prodcution.
