The flocculation foundation theory has developed rapidly, with the large quantity ofresearches of the flocculation mechanism and process by many scholars for a long term. Inthe past researches, the scholars regarded the flocculation system as a “Black box” for thelimit of the research method. They focused mostly on the input of the flocculant and theproduced result, while the shape and structure characteristics of the flocculation among thereaction process and the change of the flocculation in the growth process were notanalyzed effectively and described quantitatively.This paper tells about the digital holographic image processing system,microscopic holographic image processing system and related digital image systembased on the digital holographic image processing technology. The characteristicparameter of the particles greater than1um can be extracted through the10X microscopeinstalled in the digital holographic image processing system. The minimum size particlein this paper is the clay particle with a3um average particle size.Firstly, the author observed the settling process of the particles and get theinformation of the position and size of the particles and the settling velocity of the particlestrough the digital holographic image processing technology and related arithmetic. Andthen the author get the Stokes particle size trough the Stokes settling velocity formula.Through the comparison of the Stokes particle size of the particles and the measuredparticle size, the author get the conclusion that the digital holographic image processingtechnology can be used to measure the velocity and particle size of the minute particles.The author chose a30cm settling column after consulting the data before and studiedthe balance stage of the clay-Coscinodiscus flocculant through the digital holographicimage processing technology. The result shows that the size of the clay-Coscinodiscusflocculant is59.96um. The number is greater than the average size of the coscinodiscuscell. So that the author get the conclusion that the size of the clay-Coscinodiscus flocculantshows a growth trend, the settling velocity is proportionate to the number of the clayparticles, the flocculant will be saturated in the final stage of settling(the clay particlesbreak away and the flocculant continues settling),the coscinodiscus will change gesture for the adhering clay particles in the flocculation process and finally the coscinodiscus willsettle as a saturated gesture.
