Our group found that caerulomycin A is the main product of marine-derivedActinoalloteichus cyanogriseus WH1-2216-6, and is anti-tumor active. CaerulomycinA had previously been isolated from Streptomyces caeruleus and found to haveantifungal activity. Recent studies showed that caerulomycin A also hasimmunosuppressive effects. And with respect to the known immunosuppressantcyclosporin A, caerulomycin A can more effectively inhibit the proliferation ofleukocytes. Current U.S. Nostrum Drug companies are working to developcaerulomycinAas a new immunosuppressant drug. However, the production of caerulomycin Ais lower. In order to improve yield ofcaerulomycin A, the optimization of fermentation conditions is carried out. The mainresults are listed as follows.(1) The first work is to improve the production of caerulomycin A frommarine-derived actinomycete Actinoalloteichus cyanogriseus WH1-2216-6byoptimization of the fermentation conditions. After the optimization, the productionreached to619.9mg/Lwhich is7.0times’increase of its original production.(2) The second work is to study the extraction and separation. As a result, theoptimal isolation procedure is obtained with98%yield.(3) The third work is isolate the secondary metabolites of Actinoalloteichuscyanogriseus WH1-2216-6secondary metabolites. Five compounds (1–5) wereisolated and identified from the fermentation broth of A. cyanogriseus WH1-2216-6under the optimal cultural condition.
