In this paper, the hydroxy sulfobetaine surfactants which had definite structure and goodperformance were finely synthesized from cashew phenol, epichlorohydrin, sodiumhydroxide, toluene, dimethylamine,3-chloro-2-hydroxy propyl sulfonate, which were widevariety of applies and reasonable price. The synthesized process concluded etherification, tertiary and quaternary ammonium reaction. The betaine surfactant was labeled as C15BS.The final product was purified by recrystallization, and its chemical structure wascharacterized by FT-IR. We researched on the adsorption properties of the betaine surfactanton the oil sands with anionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants and inorganic complexsystem, which will offer a theoretical foundation for the purpose of exploring the adsorptionloss of surfactant in the formation. The interfacial tension between sufactants C15BS and the Shengli crude oil wasdetermined at different concentrations, when increasing the concentration of C15BS,interfacial tension was decreased and reached the number of ultra-low level(≤10-3mN/m).Liquid-solid ratio of the C15BS on the solid/liquid interface adsorption was60:1, andsaturation adsorption time of oil sands was15hours. The adsorption properties of the C15BSon the oil sands with alkylbenzene sulfonate surfactants (C12-3S, C14-3S, C16-3S), alkylbetaine amphoteric surfactants (C12B, C14B, C16B), and inorganic salt NaCl complexsystem were investigated. The results show that:(1)When the concentration of the surfactantC15BS was0.4g/L, its interfacial tension between C15BS and Shengli crude oil can beachieved at the ultra-low level(≤10-3mN/m);(2)In the complex system of the C15BS and alkylsulfonate (C12-3S, C14-3S, C16-3S), when C15BS surfactant content was10%-20%, withthe increasing of the adsorption numbers, the interfacial tension of the complex system wascorrespondingly larger, but the interfacial tension of the C15BS content10%-20%can beattained low interfacial (<10-3mN/m). And with the increasing of the number of carbon chain, the interfacial tension was reduced accordingly, however the C16-3S alkyl sulfonate complexadsorption was best;(3)In the complex system of the C15BS and alkyl betaine(C12B, C14B,C16B), when C15BS surfactant content was60%-80%, with the increasing of the adsorptionnumbers, the interfacial tension of the complex system was correspondingly larger, but theinterfacial tension of the C15BS content10%-20%can be attained low interfacial(<10-3mN/m). And with the increasing of the number of carbon chain, the interfacial tensionwas reduced accordingly, however the C16B alkyl betaine complex adsorption was best. This indicated that the length of the carbon chain has a certain influence on the adsorption properties of complex systems;(4)The inorganic NaCl is added in the hydroxy sulfobetainesurfactants solution and its complex system before and after the adsorption, which have goodsurface activities. That descripted the C15BS has a better salt tolerance, and the NaCl addedcan also reduce its adsorption losses.
