One of the bottleneck to solve electrochemical water splitting at large-scale industrialization is to develop low-cost and low overpotential of anode material. In this paper, we prepared AgOx/ITO electrode by two-step. Fristly, a silver film on ITO is coated then electrooxidized into a AgOx/ITO electrode in situ in K2B4O7solution. Electron microscopy(SEM) analysis shows that AgOx/ITO flim is an tuberculate material. X-ray diffraction patterns showed there are crystallines of Ag、Ag2O and AgO. In K2B4O7solution, oxygen evolution overpotential is305mV at the current of1mA/cm2. In addition, electrodes of Co-B、Ag-B and Ni-B were electrodeposited on ITO in situ in K2B4O7solution, oxygen evolving overpotential of Co-B、Ag-B and Ni-B are325mV,321mV,352mV at the current of1mA/cm2respectively. In comparison, overpotential of AgOx/ITO is lowest among them.
