Studies On The Copper(â…¡)-1,10-phenanthroline Complex Catalyzed Ullmann C-O Coupling Reaction

In this thesis, a general, mild, and intermolecular Ullmann-type C-O coupling ofaryl halides or hetero-aryl halides and phenols catalyzed by copper(â…¡)-complexwas described.A wide range of diaryl ethers are synthesized through intermolecular C(aryl)-Obond formation from the corresponding aryl iodides/aryl bromides and phenols inthe presence of a catalytic amount of cheap and easily available Cu(â…¡)-1,10phenanthroline complex in DMF at120oC in air by using t-BuOK as base. And allthe obtained products were characterized by1HNMR (400MHz, CDCl3),13CNMR(100MHz, CDCl3).
