MgO-CaO refractory material has advantages of higher refractoriness, stablehigh-temperature performance, etc. It’s regarded as one of refractory products withthe most growth potential. With rapid development of space industry, constructionindustry, motor Industry, microelectronics industry, etc, requirement of quality ofsteel is higher and higher. MgO-CaO refractory material has been valued because ofit’s advantage of purifying the liquid steel. MgO-CaO refractory material has higherosion-resistance to alkaline slag. MgO-CaO refractory material is an upscalematerial, and it has an enormous application range. MgO-CaO refractory material isusually used to clean steel and cement industry.MgO-CaO refractory material has good high-temperature performance, but it’sdisadvantage of hydration has prevented it’s enormous application in actualproduction. Through hard work of many scholars in material, hydration resistance ofMgO-CaO refractory material has been greatly improved, but the problem has notbeen completely solved. At present, surface treatment, high-temperature calcinationand introducing addition agent. Introducing addition agent has been a hotspotbecause of its’simple process, obvious effect, lower cost. SiO2、ZrO2、Fe2O3、Al2O3、CuO、TiO2and some rare earth element are usual addition agent.On the basis of others’ researches, this subject studied effect of species andquantity of additives and temperature to sintering character, hydration resistance,phase composition and microstructure of dolomite refractory. This subject studiedthree contents:(1) effect of quantity of magnesite and temperature to sinteringcharacter, hydration resistance, phase composition and microstructure of MgO-CaOrefractory material.(2) effect of quantity of quartz and temperature to sinteringcharacter, hydration resistance, phase composition and microstructure ofMgO-CaO-SiO2refractory material.(3) effect of quantity of zirconium silicate andtemperature to sintering character, hydration resistance, phase composition and microstructure of MgO-CaO-SiO2-ZrO2refractory material.MgO-CaO refractory material, MgO-CaO-SiO2refractory material andMgO-CaO-SiO2-ZrO2refractory material were prepared. Experiment results indicatethe following several conclusions:(1) sintering character, hydration resistance ofdolomite can be improved by introducing magnesite, quartz and zirconium silicate;(2) sintering temperature can be lowered150-200℃by introducing addition agent;(3) sintering character, hydration resistance of dolomite can be improved byincreasing sintering temperature.
