In this thesis, an efficient palladacycle-catalyzed aromatic carbonylationreaction of aryl formates with aryl iodides or bromides has beendeveloped.Commercially available and easily prepared aryl formates were employedas carbonyl sources without the use of external carbon monoxide. The presentcatalytic system shows broad functional group tolerance and affords aryl benzoatederivatives in good to excellent yields. In addition, the carbonylation reaction canoccur well under mild conditions. It is noteworthy that the amount of catalyst as lowas0.75mol%can also have a good catalytic effect. |
