China is a major coal-producing country in the world, having the larger amount of coal resource among other countries. The proven reserves of coal in China accounts for33.8%of world coal reserves and the available reserves is about2040billion tons. According to statistics, as of2010, China’s coal output accounts for almost50%of global yield. With the rapid development of national economy and the increasing demand for energy, coal, the based energy resource, has a top priority place among other resources.According to the "Coal Mine Safety Regulations" which was issued by State Administration of Production Safety Supervision and National Coal Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, China’s coal mining enterprises must establish a variety of system to inspect and maintain the equipment and facilities regularly and make a record. Producing is the key process for the life of enterprise, and the equipment and facilities are the based tools in realizing the process. So the quality of them does have a great matter with the costs and benefits of production, and it is the core point to ensure producing process safety. Ventilation Safety Instrument is the main portable equipment when the workers get into a coal mine. These instruments help guaranteeing a safe working environment and their lives when facing accidents. Therefore, it has a great significance to devote more energy to take good care of these instruments for coal mining enterprises.In recent years, although most of China’s coal mine enterprises have begun using computer platform to help manage instruments, but it still contains lots of manual action which would lead to errors easily. However, as being explained above, the poor quality of these instruments is a snake in the grass. Mine safety largely depends on all kinds of monitoring devices, but the users always ignore the management of them. The instruments which are in bad state of disrepair would not work normally and the missing ones would reduce the productivity. Hence, in order to settle the threats and the current situation of management, this paper tries to design an effective management system which is based on Internet of Things.This system, based on Internet of Things technology, proposed a new viable method for instrument management, forming a new type of ventilation safety instrumentation management system. The system can help improving the efficiency and accuracy of the management, preventing and reducing the occurrence of coal mine accidents. The significance is embodied in the following three aspects:first of all, it realizes the fully automated and informationized management; secondly, it helps reducing workload while improving accuracy; lastly, the application of the system could prevent and eliminate safety threats largely.According to the requirements for instrument management and its data server, the system adopts JAVA language to design the managing software on the Eclipse platform. This paper gives detailed analysis and introduction on acquisition node, software, function and its structure. The specific design process will be explained in this paper.
