Handan Iron and Steel Group produced wastewater, after conventional treatment ofthe high salt content of the water, the depth of treatment needed to achieve the purposeof reuse. After conventional treatment effluent quality: conductivity is1800~2400μS/cm, total hardness of500~700mg/L (as calcium carbonate). Depth of treatedeffluent quality requirements: Conductivity≤1000μS/cm, total hardness≤300mg/L.Wastewater treatment water is200m3/h.This paper summarizes the current situation of China’s steel enterprises wastewatertreatment and utilization, reviews the current state of the art high-salt wastewatertreatment, focusing on analysis of reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, electro adsorptionand nanofiltration technology, based on this proposed wastewater treatment trialsprogram research. Under the experimental conditions were descending desalination rate:98%RO,90%nanofiltration, electrodialysis84%,80%adsorption power. Water qualitycan achieve reuse requirements.Considering the depth of treatment using ultrafiltration (UF)-reverse osmosis (RO)technology. System recovery of75%yield was desalted150m3/h, greater than97%desalination system. Preliminary estimates total investment of10,466,400yuan.Wastewater treatment operating costs1.63yuan/ton, recycling tons profit1.37yuan/ton, about$2.3million in earnings, significant economic benefits to achieve theeconomic and environmental benefits and social unity.
