The resin used for poly-putty is a special type unsaturated polyester resin. It should have good performance about air-drying, ournishing, adhesive force, and the long shelf life.We choose the materials THPA and TMPDE with good air-drying performance, instead of the normal to produce UPR for poly-putty;By using TDI modified unsaturated polyester resin, we manufacture the new type UPR used for poly-putty;Due to the-NCO group from TDI can react with the end OH group of the macromolecule from UPR, formed the PU chain segment, and the new type UPR has more flexibility chain segment alternate with inflexibility chain segment. The experiment also show that, drawing the TDI into UPR can improve the table dry speed and the polishing performance, meanwhile increase the molecular mass of UPR.By using DCPA as enviroment-friednly diluent instead of part of styrene, can improve the poly-putty’s performance about air-drying,the curing rate, and the adhesive force. By DCPD reacting with AA, can form DCPA.We use the BPO/DMT instead of Cobalt Naphthenate/MEKPO as initiator, because BPO/DMT has the advantage of environment-friendly and low temperature resistance.Last,we choose the best additives and powders to form the new generat ion poly-putty that can meet the new requirements from car industry, shipbuilding industry, furniture industry and so on.
