Stirrer plays a key role in pressure reactor, which is a key equipment of hydrometallurgical process, it main purpose is to mix fluids and disperse gas. Traditional research method of the stirrer need long period and high cost, in addition it subject to operation technology, so the research of stirrer is limited to some extent. Application of CFD technology to stirrer selection and optimization design in stirrer research, it is feasible and economy. Therefore, the research of entered into fast development stage. This subject uses CFD numerical simulation and field experiment to optimized design the stirrer, which is used in Daxing-anling Yunnan Metallurgical Mining Development CO., LTD, and study of comparison between existing stirrer and optimized stirrer. On this theoretical basis, numerical simulation is used to optimization design the stirrer, which is a part of pressure reactor in Hulunbeier Chihong Metallurgical Mining CO., LTD project. To determine structure size of the stirrer, it is easy to manufacture.Two-fluid(Multi-fluid) of the standard k-ε turbulence model with multiple frames of reference(MRF) and standard wall functions was used in this CFD numerical simulation. The simulation results show that, in the pressure reactor of Daxing-anling, the optimized stirrer has many advantages compared with the existing stirrer:it has a stronger circulation flow, a better mixing effect and a stronger ability of gas dispersion; when the two stirrers had same stirring power, the stirring speed of existing stirrer and optimized stirrer were225rpm and127rpm respectively. In order to experimentally study the two stirrer in the factory, it verified the simulation furthurly.According to the mentioned research, the stirrer of Hulunbeier was designed. Then by studying on CFD numerical simulation, it shows that the stirrer can meet the need.
