China’s comprehensive level of the safety technology of mine underground is pretty low compared with other developed countries. The safety of mine underground production being under seriously threatened. Underground staff always be threatened with flood, gas explosions, hazardous gas leaking and other accidents. In addition, due to the special and perplexing geographical environment, it is difficult to communicate and carry out rescue operations after accidents occurred. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a set of feasible, effective and reliable underground communication system.Considering the special environment of coal mine underground, this paper put forward a design scheme of navigation system in underground coal mine based on the design of Wireless Mesh Communication Network in underground mine. Then according to the logical structure design, completed the development and debugging of navigation system with the Xcode development platform combined with SuperMap iMobile components. And achieved the function of navigation system on the iPhone platform, which provides a solution for reference for the navigation system in underground mines.The location information plays a growing role in people’s daily life, and the location-based services (LBS) are in higher demand. Currently, GPS has been commonly used in outdoor environments. However, signal is susceptible to obstacles, GPS is not suitable for indoor applications. In this paper, after analyzing several common indoor positioning technologies, selected Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) positioning technology as the positioning scheme of underground mine. But the traditional RSSI positioning accuracy is not satisfactory, so this paper combined the traditional RSSI technology and the inertial sensors of iPhone (smart mobile phone) to position. iPhone integrates a variety of inertial sensors, which is equipped with a powerful operating system iOS, these outstanding features make iPhone suitable for the development of indoor navigation system based on inertia. In this paper, put forward a positioning solution which used the combination of RSSI and inertial sensor location as the training sample of the unsupervised clustering. By introducing inertia calculation and automatic learning position location fingerprint technique to precise positioning results, then presented the principle of RSSI positioning, a suitable transmission model for underground and a method of iPhone test acceleration data. Then, this paper introduced the design of the underground navigation system, put forward the overall framework of the system and the logic function modules, and analyzed the data structure system. Then, this paper introduced the development environment and operating platform of the system, also introduced the process of making electronic map which plays an important part of the navigation system. In the end, this paper introduced each function module in details, and demonstrated the navigation function on iPhone.
