Abstract:Dust of blast furnace is an important secondary resources rich in Zn. Currently the main treatment method of the blast furnace flue dust is rotary evaporation process, which has some disadvantages, such as high energy consumption, the kiln knot and environmental pollution. While hydrometallurgy process also has some disadvantages, such as serious equipment corrosion, more leaching agent consumption, bad operation environment, high cost. With complicated composition and refractory of low grade zinc oxide ore, it can’t be effeetive recovery of zinc with conventional benefieiation and metallurgleal methods. In order to improve the comprehensive utilization of the two types resources, the development of high efficiency technology to treat such materials has important practical significance.In the present paper, sulfidation roasting followed by floatation was undertaken for oxide ore with low zinc grade and zinc-bearing blast furnace dust. The results are as follows:The thermodynamics to reaction of oxides and vulcanizing agent (sulfur or pyrite) with additives carbon was calculated, the possibility of oxide materials transforms into sulfide materials was analyzed by the△rGθ-T (500℃to1000℃) diagrams. The sulfidation roasting experiment of three common zinc oxide (ZnO, ZnFe2O4, Zn2SiO4) indicates that ZnO is easier to be vulcanized than ZnFe2O4and Zn2SiO4,while ZnFe2O4is the most difficult to be vulcanized. Compared with pyrite, higher zinc sulfidation efficiency can be achieved using sulfur.Using XRD, laser particle and SEM-EDS, the difference of the flotation of the synthesized zinc sulfide and natural sphalerite was analysed.With sulfidation roasting and flotation process to recover zinc from low grade zinc oxide ore and blast furnace dust, concentrats were obtained with35.38%Zn, and67.8%Zn, respectively.
