The coking wastewater is a kind of typical industrial organic wastewater, most ofthe compounds in the coking wastewater are highly concentrated, toxic, mutagene andcarcinogenic and may have long-term environmental and ecological impacts. TheCOD, NH3-N and chroma of the coking wastewater couldn’t reach the emissionstandards of pollutants for coking chemical industry (GB16171-2012) with twicebiochemical treatment, they need a depth of treatment.1. In this study the treatment of coking wastewater was investigated by anadvanced Fenton oxidation process using ferrous sulphate and hydrogen peroxide.Particular attention was paid to the removal effect to COD, NH3-N and the chroma inthe wastewater by the initial pH of the wastewater and the dosage of H2O2, ferroussulphate and PAM. The results showed that, Fenton oxidation can effectively removethe COD, NH3-N and the chroma in the wastewater. The main optimun condition forthe oxidation reaction is that the initial pH of the wastewater is8~10, the dosage offerrous sulphate, H2O2and PAM for the wastewater is500mg/L,3.5mL/L and4.0mg/L, respectively. At these conditions, the removal efficiency of COD, NH3-N andthe chroma of the wastewater is85.9%,97.3%and84.6%, respectively.2. At those conditions of the above, different concentrations of cokingwastewater was inverstigated by an advanced Fenton oxidation process, the maximumconcentration of COD is800mg/L when its COD, NH3-N and chroma could reach theemission standards of pollutants for coking chemical industry (GB16171-2012),respectively.3. The treatment of coking wastewater after Fenton oxidation process wasinvestigated by the reverse osmosis membrane. At the room temperature, particularattention was paid to the removal effect to COD, and the chroma in the wastewater bythe reverse osmosis system running time, shade ratio and operating pressure. Theresults showed that, the main optimun condition for the reverse osmosis is that thatrunning time is30min, the shade ratio is2.5:1, the operating pressure is1.05MPa.At these conditions, the removal efficiency of COD and the chroma of the wastewateris79.6%and94.6%, respectively.4.
