Zinc anticorrosive paint is regarded as the top level anticorrosive paint by means of the metal anticorrosive and insulated shielding effect and cathodic protection effect which gives excellent anticorrosive protection for the metals. In order to ensure the zinc powder to be electric conductive and to become sacrificial anode in the zinc rich epoxy anticorrosive paint, the quality of the zinc powder and the quantity used in the paint would significantly affect the anticorrosive behaviors in the coatings. The major achievements of the study was shown in the thesis as below:1) Analyzing the microscopic structure; particle size; particle size distribution; dispersion status (melting; adjoin, etc); oxidation; impurity; surface configuration and other properties which have impacts on coating performance of zinc rich epoxy anticorrosive paint by characterization means of SEM; EDX; X-ray diffraction, etc. Investigating and discussing on the different manufacture process of zinc dust at home and abroad and on the advantages and disadvantages of zinc dust samples with various oxidation degree. The approach to improve the quality of zinc dust was brought up in the thesis by analyzing and evaluating zinc dust samples from home and abroad, so as to improve local zinc dust to achieve the global standard or similar to it.2) Replacing partially spherical zinc dust with flake-shaped zinc dust, based on the study and characterization of flake-shaped zinc dust. Also discussing the effects of different flake-shaped zinc dusts on the anticorrosive performance of zinc rich epoxy primers. Some rough and early ideas about the development of using flake-shaped zinc dust in the zinc primers.3) Discussing the use of iron phosphate in the zinc anticorrosive primers and its advantages and disadvantages of iron phosphate containing zinc anticorrosive primers. It demonstrated that the accessibility of partially replacing spherical zinc dust with flake-shaped zinc dust by analysis and characterization, which provided scientific evidences for product technical specifications of iron phosphate containing zinc anticorrosive primers.4) Putting forward the conceive of further study on developing new type of long term effect zinc dust anticorrosive coatings (anticorrosive effect longer than10years) and schematic problems of zinc primers...
