The adsorption behavior of the surface molecularly imprinted adsorbent by penicillium chysogenum mycelium(the surface imprinted adsorbent) was studied. The results show that the maximum adsorption capacity for Cr3+was about60mg/g and its adsorption behavior accorded with the equation of Langmuir. The adsorption capacity is50mg/g, at the initial Cr3+concentration of200mg/L at pH3-4. Ionic strength, Ca2+and Mg2+had negligible effect on the adsorption. The saturated adsorbent can be desorbed by0.5M nitric acid or sulfuric acid solution, with a90%desorption rate for Cr3+. Regenerated by0.2M NaOH solution, the adsorbent can be reused more than10times.The adsorbent accommodate to operation of expanded bed, the dynamic absorption capacity for Cr3+is24.73mg/g, when the initial concentration of Cr3+is50mg/g at the flux50ml/min and the height of bed20cm. The saturated adsorbent can be desorbed by0.3M sulfuric acid solution, with a80%desorption rate for Cr3+. The reused batches were up to5. Treating Chrome Tanning effluent by the surface molecular imprinted adsorbent was studied. A new facilities of Chrome Tanning effluent treatment had been build in Xin ji of Hebei province. Combining expanded bed, aeration treatment and chemical sedimentation,500t/a wastewater could be treated by the new facilities. Through expanded bed treatment, the total Cr concentration of leather wastewater decreased less than l.Omg/L, the COD decreased to150mg/L and the SS decreased to15mg/L. the treated wastewater can be reused to soak and wash skins.
