Ecosystem service functional assessment is the hot topic of the ecology, and issignificant to guide the regional ecological civilization construction and sustainabledevelopment, and provide the policy for ecosystem integrated management. Carbonsequestration and conservation is the important function of ecosystem service. We usemulti-source data, include land use change data, MSS/TM remote sensing data, topographicand meteorological data integrate with forest inventory data, and applied InVEST model toevaluate the different period of soil carbon conservation (1975、1990、2008、2012) and carbonstorage (1990、2008、2012) in Baoxing County, Sichuan province. The important functionzone was select by classified and overlaying analysis of these two ecosystem service function.The results are showed as follow:(1) The main land use type is forest land, followed by shrub and grassland. The areas ofbamboo forest, arable land, water and others are very low in Baoxing County. The forest landwas decreased firstly and then increased while shrub land showed the opposite trends, andarable land area was gradually decreased between1975~2008. The areas of grassland, waterand others had almost no change in these periods.(2) Actual and potential erosion modulus and soil conservation were3.32t/hm2·a,92.95t/hm2·a and89.63t/hm2·a, respectively. The soil conservation modulus was increased between1975s and1990s, while gradually decreased in the18years after1990s.(3) The average soil conservation, potential and real erosion amounts were2799.34T g,2903.30T g and103.70T g, respectively. Soil conservation amounts decreased as follow:areable> bamboo> forest> shrub> grassland> others.(4) The mainly soil erosion intensity was mired and moderated in Baoxing county. Soilerosion area was more than96%of the study region, and changed small in the four differentperiods. Soil mired erosion area was gradually increase, while mild erosion area wasdecreased, and moderate and intensity and pole strengthen erosion area was decreased firstlyand then increased. Higher soil erosion in pole and fierce intensity was observed in north,west and southwest.(5) Ecosystem carbon density was increased rapidly in the past22yeras, from23.19t/hm2in1990to50.68t/hm2in2012. Forest has the highest carbon density in the severalecosystems, with highest carbon density grown rate in larch, and lowest rate in nanmu andbirch.(6) Carbon storage increased rapidly between1990and2012. The amounts of carbonstorage in2012were1582.94T g, while only45.77%and83.85%of these in1990and2008,respectively. Increasing of forest carbon density and area contributed more to the vegetationcarbon storage in Baoxing county. Bamboo carbon storage is lower than other land use type,although increased during the observed periods.(7) The range of higher value of carbon storage was enlarged between1990and2012. Topographical was the mainly control factors of vegetation carbon storage in Baoxing.Vegetation was distributed on north and west mountain area which was fit for forest grow dueto the few human acitivity.(8) Results showed that vital and important ecosystem function region was mainlydistributed in north, part of west and east boundary. The area of vital and important ecosystemfunction region was increased in2008, when compared these with1900.
