Many studies have shown that the toxicity, transfering property andbioavailability of an element are rather dependent on its speciation. Therefore, it isvery important to analyze the speciation of an element in the environmental andbiological samples in hope for crucial information to help us correctly evaluate itsenvironmental risk. Biomolecules such as amino acids and polypeptide are theingredient of human body, which is closely related with people. Therefore, it haspractical importance to analyze biomolecules not only for the study of genetics, butalso for the development of the medicine and foods. This thesis includes four chapters. The first chapter is a review of introducingthe characteristic of CE-ICP-MS and its predominance in the speciation analysis. Then, take arsenic and tin as examples, review the progress on their speciationanalysis. At last, the application of quantum dots in the biomolecules analysis isintroduced. In the second chapter, a new method for the separation analysis of arsenic insea food by CE-ICP-MS was developed. The optimum conditions have been study indetail, and six species of arsenic (As (III)、As (V)、DMA、MMA、AsB and AsC) werecompletely separated and determined under optimum conditions with the detectionlimits of0.08-0.12ng/mL. Using the method developed in this study, we havesuccessful determined the different species of arsenic in laver, oyster and musselsamples, which collected from Fujian province. In the third chapter, a new method for the separation and determination of TMT,TET, TPT and TBT by CE-ICP-MS was developed. The conditions of extracting eachtriorganotin compound in aquatic organisms were discussed. Using the extractionmethod together with CE-ICP-MS, we have successfully determined the differentspecies of triorganotin compounds in Mya arenaria Linnaeus and Corbicula flumineasamples with the detection limits of0.2-0.7ngSn/mL. Our results provided a good, direct and sensitive analysis methed for the organotic compounds in biologicalsamples without complicated pretreatment. In the forth chapter, we have successfully synthesized CdS nanoparticles andtry to tag the biomolecules such as amino acids and polypeptide etc, in order todevelop a new method for the analyisis of amino acids and polypeptide based on QDs(quantum dots) and CE-ICP-MS.
