Since2007, research and application of new supporting technologies for horizontalwell precision screen have been carried on in succession in many new heavy oil blocks inLe’an oilfield, such as Cao13, Cao20, Cao27, Guang9, Wang140, etc. But due to the influxof edge water and the impact of well completion factors, the high water-cut problembecame increasingly serious. In this paper, the nine factors affected the development effectof thermal horizontal well in Le’an oilfield were researched using the gray correlationmethod and the major factors were obtained. Based on the classification of the high watercut horizontal well, the water flooded modes of edge water influx horizontal well and streamchanneling horizontal well were comprehensively analyzed. Using reservoir numericalsimulation technology, three typical well groups were established. Horizontal well water cutvariation rules, water producing factors and its mechanisms were studied. Based on the newunderstanding got from these researches, horizontal well water flooded patterns, waterflooded dynamics and some other reservoir engineering researches were studied. The waterplugging measures for horizontal well were studied through the existing measures result.The parameters of water plugging for horizontal well were optimized using reservoirnumerical simulation technology, and providing a basis for horizontal well countermeasures,which reduced the cost and enhanced the oil recovery.
