This paper established a continuous lumping model program based on the modelproposed by Laxminarasimhan using MATLAB software after studying the continuous theoryof lumping. The calculation method of the model was explored to shorten the runtime of theprogram fully using vector processing functions of the software. The developed MATLABprogram was first validated with the data from literature which reported hydrocracking resultsof the Maya crude oil at380℃、400℃、420℃under the pressure of9.8MPa andLHSV=0.33h-1, the coefficients of determination R2at three temperatures were0.9857,0.9952and0.9920. The parameters optimized at420℃、9.8MPa、LHSV=0.33h-1could be used tomodel the results of LHSV=0.5h-1and1.5h-1at the same temperature and pressure. Theparameters optimized at400℃、LHSV=0.33h-1and9.8MPa was used to predict the results ofLHSV=0.5h-1, and the comparison between the experiments and5lumps model and9lumpsmodel showed the continuous model had a good description of the middle distillates, and theprediction of gases and heavy oils were not good partly because the lumping didn’t take theanalysis sheet of gas products into consideration, and the lumping may divide the gases tooroughly. But the model still has its advantages such as using parameters optimized at onecondition to predict results at other conditions, and we can know the yield of products easilywhen the product schemes are changed, which has significant meaning to actual productionoperations.
