Aiming at the problem that traditional design experience and being lack of scientific andreasonable design methods lead to low thermal efficiency. A cold experiment was carried onand optimization clues were expected to be drawn from results of the experiment.First of all, based on the experiment, air distribution and enhanced combustion theories,a new combustion chamber structure was designed. The new structure mainly included of twocharacteristics. On one hand, it applied the sectional combustion theory by use the two-timeinlet air to replace the one-time inlet air. On the other hand, air was used for material ofinsulated layer. At the same time, basic structure of combustion chamber was be confirmedwith the help of numeric calculations.Secondly, multi-field coupling was considered because of interactions which existedamong flow field, combustion field and heat transfer field. So, heat-fluid-solid couplingnumerical calculations was adopted to get accurate and comprehensive results. Basing ofreasonable boundary conditions and calculation model according to new combustion chamberstructure, a series of calculations were accomplished. The analyses shows that: there are twoobvious recirculation regions in flow field; high-temperature flue gas was evenly distributedin the combustion chamber; the first and the second inlet air had been completely mixed in thecombustion chamber. At the same time, analyses also found that air-insulted layer couldeffectively reduce heat loss, radiation must be considered in calculations for its large influenceon combustion. Finally, four different structures were designed basing of different ratios between the firstinlet air and the second inlet air and corresponding heat-fluid-solid numerical calculations wascarried on. Besides, an objective function for optimizing the combustion chamber was found.
