The azide/alkyne click reaction has been widely used ever since its discovery.click chemistry reaction have advantage of highly atomic utilization, highly toleranceof functional group, insensitive to reaction solvent, and highly thermodynamic drivingforce. The reaction can be applied to synthesis of polymer materials, and hence, fulfilling the application in propellants and polymer bounded explosives. Clickchemistry as a simple and effective synthetic approach has opened up a new idea.Dimethyl2,2-di(prop-2-ynyl)malonate (DDPM) has been obtained byalkynylation of central carbon atom of dimethyl malonate. Consequently, theelastomer was prepared by blending diacetylene-functionalized compound withglycidyl azide polymer. As the feeding molar ratio of DDPM vs. GAP increased, thecrosslinking densities of as-prepared materials gradually increased, together withsimultaneous enhancement of Young’s modulus and tensile strength. In addition, withan increase of the crosslinking densities, the glass transition temperatures ofas-prepared materials significantly increased from-43.9C to-5.1C while themechanical loss peaks also gradually broadened and shifted up to high temperature, and even presented two peaks when the feeding molar ratio of DDPM vs. GAP was inhigher molar ratio. It indicated that the formation of network resulted in structuralheterogeneity in the as-prepared materials..There are two research findings in this paper:(1) Dimethyl malonate werealkynyl modified to DDPM;(2)The GAP-based materials has been prepare byblending DDPM and GAP via click chemistry, and the elastomer materials has beenshown excellent mechanical properties, the maximum values of Young’s modulus andtensile strength were174.1MPa and13.1MPa, respectively. While, the maximumvalue of breaking elongation was81.7%.GAP was solidified by a non-isocynated method. It worthy of noting that themechanical properties has been greatly improved compared to other groups.
