Today’s society has paid much attention on resource conservation、environmentally friendly,so aqueous coating,which use water as a solvent or adispersion medium and can reduce the use of organic solvents to a large extent,willattract much more attention of researchers from different countries in the future.Acrylate/polyurethane waterborne emulsion has been studied for many years,thereare many scientific research reports about this and it will be continuing concerned bypeople. The emulsion combines the advantages of polyacrylate and polyurethane,inaddition to this,it also has many special features,such as high solids content, nopollution, low-cost, low-power.Polyurea is the third generation of polyurethaneproducts, its performance is more excellent. Acrylate/polyurea waterborne emulsionwas prepared by polyurea which replaced the use of polyurethane,its performance ismuch more outstanding but scientific research reports and practical application aboutthis is very little, in the future it will attract much more attention and become a hotresearch. In this paper thermal insulation coatings were prepared by acrylate/polyurea waterborne emulsion and silica nanoparticles which has a medium porestructure and were added to the emulsion,this composite coatings has good thermalinsulation properties and will be the development trend of future functional coatings.Nanometer compound material is compounded by two or more than two kinds ofsolid phases which will compounded in nano-graded (1-100nm)at one dimension atleast. Inorganic nanometer compound material which use polymer as the carrier isdifferent from common organic-inorganic nanometer compound material(OINC),thiskind of nanometer compound material is prepared by inorganic phases and organicphases which are compounded in nano-graded or sub-micro level rather than simplyadditive,these two phases were connected through van der Waals forces or hydrogenbond. In addition,inorganic nano-particle has surface effect, quantum dimension effect,and macro quantum effect and so on, which make nano-particle have particularphysical and chemical properties.Compared with conventional polymer,OINC hasspecial structure and morphology, and thus has excellent properties,such as physicaland mechanical properties, thermal properties, optical, electrical, magnetic and catalytic.These greatly expand the applications of nanocomposites and improve itspractical value, for this reason, the nanocomposite was known as one of the "21stcentury ’s most promising material",many materials researchers began to deeplyexplore and research.In this paper, polyurea prepolymer was synthesized by using toluenediisocyanate (TDI), Jeffamine D-2000as the main raw material at first,thisprepolymer still contains unreacted isocyanate;then,unreacted isocyanate would reactwith hydroxyethyl acrylate that contains active hydrogen,the reaction product,that ispolyurea interconnected monomers,is a double bond-terminated;at last,use thispolyurea interconnected monomers as a crosslinking agent, methyl methacrylate andbutyl acrylate as the functional monomer to obtain polyurea/acrylate compositeaqueous emulsion by emulsion polymerization method. Analyze the physical andchemical properties of the coating, using FTIR, DSC, DMA, etc. to make a deepcharacterization.In this paper, with cationic surfactantsas template and TEOS (TEOS) as a siliconsource,silica nanoparticles were synthesized under alkaline conditions.Silicananoparticles with special mesoporous structure were obtained throughhigh-temperature calcination or ion exchange which is aim to remove thetemplate.And the resulting product were characterized by XRD, FESEM, TEM, etc.In this paper, the silica nanoparticles with special structure were used to modifypolyurea/acrylate composite aqueous emulsion,then test its thermal insulationproperties. In addition,it has determined an excellent aqueous coating formulationswith the best insulation properties.Done a lot of thinking and discussion aboutunsolved problems and something to be improved in this experiment,and pointed outthe research direction for the next phase.
