Cobalt metal is an important strategic metal,it plays a very important role in nationaleconomic development,and it is an important raw material for making high temperature alloy,magnetic materials and anti-corrosion alloy. With the rapid development of economy in ourcountry,high-tech and new materials should be quickly applied,the demond for cobalt increasessharply.Cobalt chloride is a kind of superior performance of the battery precursor material,cobalthydroxide and cobalt oxide can be made from cobalt chloride,and the cobalt oxide and cobalthydroxide is a precursor of the preparation of high performance cobalt acid lithium. The batterymade from cobalt hydroxide and cobalt oxide has the excellent performance of high safetycapacity of high voltage,it is gradually replacing the battery products made from traditionalmaterials.In this paper,cobalt usage are introduced,main methods of leaching of material containingcobalt and purification of leaching solution containing cobalt are introduced,determinationmethods of nickel、copper.、manganese、zinc、total iron、CaO、MgO and SiO2are introduced,and the production technology of cobalt chloride from Ningbo branch bothe cobalt nickel Co.,LTD are also introduced.This paper main research content include:(1) Dissolving section transformation of production technology of cobalt chloride fromNingbo branch bothe cobalt nickel Co., LTD:Aimed at the existing shortage of dissolving section of production technology of cobaltchloride from Ningbo branch bothe cobalt nickel Co., LTD,Na2S2O5was used for reducing agentinstead of liquid SO2,the optimum technology condition of cobalt ore dissolved was obtainedby laboratory research. On this basis,the dissolving section of production technology of cobaltchloride was transformed. Not only operating conditions improvement and environmentalpollution reduce,but also metal leaching rate of3%being increased after the dissolving sectiontransformed.(2) spherical cobalt hydroxide preparation:The optimum technology condition of preparation of large particles spherical cobalthydroxide was obtained by laboratory research. Various materialization index of large particlesspherical cobalt hydroxide prepared in the optimum technology condition were analyzed,and itsmicrostructure was observed by scanning electron microscope. (3) spherical cobalt oxide preparation:The optimum technology condition of preparation of small particles spherical cobalt oxidewas obtained by laboratory research. Various materialization index of small particles sphericalcobalt oxide prepared in the optimum technology condition were analyzed,and its microstructurewas observed by scanning electron microscope. On laboratory research basis,the pilot scaletechnology condition of preparation of small particles spherical cobalt oxide was obtained bypilot scale research. Various materialization index of small particles spherical cobalt oxideprepared in the pilot scale technology condition were analyzed,and its microstructure wasobserved by scanning electron microscope.
