Primary design of South Liangcun Wastewater Treatment Plant was completed inthis thesis. The plant is located at the eastern industrial region of Shijiazhuang City.The scale of the project was determined as150,000m3/d in2015by the total amountof water supply and the ordinary comprehensive drainage coefficient of urbansewerage.East development region wastewater treatment plant has already beenconstructed and put into operation, which is located at the same area with SouthLiangcun Wastewater Treatment Plant. The influent quality of the project can bedetermined by that of East development region wastewater treatment plant.Considering the type of enterprises in the project service area and the requirements inWastewater Quality Standards for Discharge to Municipal Sewers (CJ343-2010), theinfluent quality was determined.The effluent of project abides the first level A criteria in the Discharge Standardof Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant(GB18918-2002)accordingto the laws and regulations of Hebei Province and Shijiazhuang City.On the basis of influent ratio of BOD5/COD, the raw wastewater isbiodegradable. It is suitable to use biological treatment method. Compared withbiological aeration filter (BAF) process, it was decided to use multistage biologicaltreatment process. On the basis of influent ratio of C/N, the influent was lack ofcarbon sources and needed external carbon addition.Because there would be a lot of pharmacy wastewater which contained largeamounts of bio-refractory COD, the catalytical ozonation process was chosen, whichis recognized as an effective way to deal with such wastewater as the advancedtreatment.Finally, the process flowsheet of the project was determined as: pretreatment/hydrolysis/five-stage biological tank (AAO+AO)/secondary sedimentation tank/high-efficiency sedimentation tank/stage-one advanced catalytic oxidation/firststage BAF/stage-two advanced catalytic oxidation/secondary stage BAF/clothfilter/UV disinfection.The implementation of the project can greatly reduce pollutants discharged intothe water environment, protect the underground water resources, improve surfacewater environment and people’s living standards. Meanwhile it also improves the investment environment and produces indirect economic benefits, promotessustainable economic development.
