This thesis studies the systemic investigation of materials synthesis, crystalgrowth, crystal structure, some physics chemistry parameters and magneto-opticalFaraday properties analyzed according to the principle of paramagnetic Faraday Effectabout Sr3Gd1-xTbx(BO3)3crystals.The polycrystalline materials were synthesized by the state-phase reactionmethod. The sintering method was decided by DSC-TGA curve. XRD and IR analysiswere used to analyze the compositions of polycrystalline materials. The measuredsusceptibility and excised spectra of polycrystalline materials provided the referencefor magneto-optical properties of the target crystals.These crystals were grown by Czochralski method. According to regulating thegradient of temperature field, rotation rate, pulling speed, annealing period andfurnace atmosphere, the growth techniques of crystals were investigated.Sr3Gd1-xTbx(BO3)3crystals uncrack were grown. Furthermore, in this series of crystals,valence of terbium element can be changed.Powder XRD, thermal expansion coefficient, Vickers hardness, specific heat andmagnetization curves were measured for detecting the structure and some physicschemistry properties of as-grown crystals. The transmission spectra and the absorptionspectra at200-1500nm wavelength range were measured at room temperature.Faraday rotations of crystals were measured using laser sources at532nm and1064nm wavelengths. Based on Faraday rotations and the tranmission spectra, theVerdet constants and the magneto-optical figure of merit were obtained by fitting andcalculating.The results show that this series of crystals could be considered to produce wideband magnetic optical appliances which are used in the range of400-1100nm. Theinfluence factors of paramagnetic magnetic optical crystal Faraday Effect are alsoanalyzed in the basis of magnetism, optics and structure properties in idiographicmagnetic optical crystals.
