Emulsion demulsification is an essential part for oil production and environmentalprotection. Although microwave demulsification is accepted an efficient and cleandemulsification method,the factors which affect the demulsification rate is varied,anddifferent emulsions have different optimal demulsification conditions, so it has not yet appliedin the oil field.This thesis firstly put forward a method of finding optimal demulsification ofmicrowave frequency,and then make experiment research the factors which microwavedemulsification to the water-in-oil mulsion and oil-in-water emulsion,and compare with Waterbath heating method.Microwave frequency to demulsification effect has a great influence. This paper putsforward a method of finding optimal demulsification of microwave frequency, based on theabove within a microwave frequency measurement is designed by the method of emulsiondielectric constant of the fixture, this fixture is the improvement of2.92mm coaxialconnectors, it has the width working frequency band, the frequency from direct current to40GHZ; it has good compatibility features; and derived the method by measuring the scatteringparameters conversing the emulsion dielectric constant.The experiments of the microwave demulsification and the water-bath heatingdemulsification were contrasted, this experimental conclusions: for the w/o emulsion, the rateof microwave demulsification and the dehydration efficiency are significantly higher than thewater-bath heating. while the rate of o/w emulsion microwave demulsification only slightlyhigher than the water bath heating method, and the dehydration speed is faster than water bathheating demulsification. Through the experiment analysis of temperature and power factormicrowave on the w/o and o/w emulsion, the results showed that: for the w/o emulsion,temperature of50℃and power of500w is best demulsification conditions; For o/w emulsion,temperature70℃and power of700w is the best condition of microwave demulsification.The effect of graphite solid particle on demulsification process is studied. When thecontent of graphite is at0.5~1.5wt%, microwave demulsificationratio will increase with it. But if the content continues to increase, the demulsificationratio will decrease. For water-bathheating method, the demulsificationratio decrease as the content of graphite increases. Itdemonstrates that the field intensity distribution of emulsion irradiated by microwave is nothomogeneous with local hit spots in it, by simulating field intensity around graphite solidparticle at different locations and with different shapes, and measuring temperatures atdifferent locations in emulsions. It explains the reason why graphite particles can increasedemulsification efficiency of microwave method.
