Hydroxylamine is an important organic chemicals, with a wide range of application insynthesis of caprolactam and pesticide, medicine, etc. Traditional ways for producing thesecompounds involve complex process route, suffering from the drawbacks likeenvironmental pollution and unsafe process, etc. Thus we proposed a process that solidhydroxylamine salt can be produced from the hydrolysis of cyclohexanone oxime. However, inorganic acid was used as catalyst in the process. This may cause equipment corrosion andenvironmental problems. Therefore, acidic ionic liquids were used to replace inorganic acids inthe hydrolysis of cyclohexanone oxime in this study. For the hydrolysis of cyclohexanone oxime reaction, various reaction parameters wereoptimized such as reaction temperature, time, the amount of hydrochloric acid and water. Results showed that the optimized reaction conditions were cyclohexanone oxime15mmol,deionized water833mmol, concentrated hydrochloric acid5mL,1h,60℃. Nearly100%ofconversion of cyclohexanone oxime and cyclohexanone selective were obtained underoptimized conditions.100%. Moreover, hydroxylamine hydrochloride as well ashydroxylamine sulfate, was synthesized in the present reaction. For the above-mentioned problem of using concentrated inorganic acid in the hydrolysisreaction, a series of SOH3-ionic liquids were prepared and used as acidic catalyst. It wasfound that ionic liquid [HSO3-btma][HSO4] was chosen as a better catalyst for thehydrolysis. Recycling experiments revealed that the [HSO3-btma][HSO4] catalyst wasstable enough to be recycled for the reaction. Moreover, the optimized reaction conditionsinvestigated were cyclohexanone oxime/water (molar ratio)1:61.5, cyclohexanoneoxime/ionic liquid (molar ratio)1:5,60℃,1h. And98.3%of cyclohexanone oximeconversion was achieved. Furthermore, solid hydroxylamine salt of ionic liquid wassuccessfully synthesized by this way.
