In converter steelmaking equipment, converter shell with ring connection deviceis key components, and the equipment running smoothly has important effect onproduction safety. For Xinsteel210tons converter with three-points hanging as theresearch object, in order to increase converter block repair cycle, reduce maintenanceworkload, solve the serious influence of steelmaking production rhythm problems, thepaper studied effective modifying measurements to ensure the security and stability ofconverter steel-making and continuous production.Firstly, through the force analysis and finite element analysis on the bracket circle,in the contrast of elastic deformation, the three hanging converter block makeappropriate improvement, identified using prestressed concrete block, changed thehanging at three to four hanging retrofit scheme, successfully eliminated the equipmentand the safe hidden trouble, effectively improved the converter running stability andreliability.Secondly, by comparison elastic deformation with finite element analysis of thethree-point hanging converter and four-point hanging of the ring, converter tiltingmoment was contrasted analyzed. Four hanging of converter tilting moment wasgreater than3hanging tilting moment, security is better than that of three hangingconverter. In the process of converter tilting converter, deformation quantity offour-hanging converter caused by vibration and impact was only one third than thatof four hanging converter.Practice had proved that according to the force analysis of the circle, and the finite element analysis, determined to hang at three instead of four hanging retrofit scheme,not only guaranteed the stability of the converter equipment and high efficiencyoperation, effectively extended the converter maintenance cycle, greatly reduced themaintenance workload of converter, increased the rate of the converter production, butalso provided very good reference and guidance for large converter bracket circle andthe design of the furnace shell connection device.
